01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

Nestled charmingly on the vibrant Quai des Belges at Marseille’s historic Old Port, Glacier Maison Marcel is a delightful haven for ice cream enthusiasts seeking a refreshing treat with a view. This inviting ice cream shop masterfully balances tradition and generous hospitality, making it a beloved stop for both locals and visitors alike.

What truly sets Glacier Maison Marcel apart is the remarkable creaminess and authentic flavors of their ice cream. Customers frequently highlight the pistachio flavor as an exceptional specialty—a rich, nutty experience that gently melts on the tongue without being overly sweet. The generous serving sizes add real value, as noted by Mina C. Trandafilovski, who praises the fair pricing and creamy texture, while Kevin Lee fondly recalls being served the biggest single scoop he's ever enjoyed, all delivered with friendly, patient service despite a language barrier.

For those with a sweet tooth looking for variety, the banana chocolate and caramel salted butter cones come highly recommended, bursting with layers of indulgent flavor that conjure pure satisfaction with every bite. However, it’s worth noting that some fruit-flavored soft serves may not quite hit the mark for every palate.

The atmosphere here is relaxed yet invigorating, perfectly complementing the scenic waterfront views. The genuine warmth from the staff—whether it’s the courteous gentleman taking your order or the friendly lady behind the counter—enhances the experience, making each visit feel personal and welcoming. Mélody Béaur Guérin aptly captures the essence by emphasizing the consistently warm welcome and outstanding pistachio ice cream.

Glacier Maison Marcel effortlessly combines quality, quantity, and congeniality, crafting an enchanting ice cream experience that invites you to savor not just a dessert, but a moment by the shimmering waters of Marseille’s port. Whether you're a devoted local or a traveler exploring the historic heart of this Mediterranean city, this ice cream shop promises a sweet memory to take with you.

The gentleman taking my order was polite, didn't care that I only spoke English, and gave me the biggest single scoop of ice cream I've ever had. Ice cream was delicious to boot.

This is a nice ice cream and dessert spot located on the water of the Marseille port. The woman working there was very friendly. The serving sizes of the ice cream were huge and the price was fair. The ice cream itself was very creamy, and not overly sweet.
